Market Square Bad Lippspringe

To accompany the 2017 State Garden Show, parts of the public spaces in Bad Lippspring's city centre are being redesigned. For the market square, the integration of the Jordan River, which rises directly in the neighbourhood, represents great potential. The multitude of watercourses in the town provide atmospheric inspiration and become the design principle for the design.Striking slabs interpret the curves of the watercourses.Like a whirlpool, the Jordan River is surrounded. The topography, bands and position of the trees naturally divide the square into areas for lingering by the water, for gastronomic uses and for strolling and flexible uses.A uniform surface of non-directional paving gives the square a coherent appearance. A row of trees flanking the square strengthens the connection to Arminius Park to the north.
