Market Square Bad Lippspringe

Parallel to the Garden Show 2017, parts of the public spaces of the town centre of Bad Lippspringe were redesigned. The spatial and atmospheric integration of the Jordan River represented a major opportunity for the redesign of the market square. A gentle topography leads the square to the river bank. Loosely arranged pastures provide light shade for the shore area. The upper level of the square is enlivened by three water features at identical levels and is designed to be open and flexible for events and festivities. A row of elms accompanies the north-south direction and provides shade to the benches at the edge of the square. The uniform surface of the square is defined by concrete stone paving in various tones of grey and in an undirected arrangement. The market square was completed and ceremoniously inaugurated in November 2015.
