The gateway to Wedding, marked by the red-brick neo-Gothic historic Dankeskirche church, as depicted on postcards at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, car traffic dominates along Müllerstraße and the square lacks some amenities. The listed new Dankeskirche, designed by Fritz Bornemann in 1970, is hidden behind bushes and parked cars in the second row. Nevertheless, the existing tree canopy provides the site with light shade and an appropriate scale. Based on this, the tree population will be supplemented with new plantings of species suitable for the urban climate and carefully reorganised. Transparent at eye level, the wide gap to the eastern development is closed. Under the canopy of trees, the individual sections - the green church surroundings, the red Tenneplatz and the Reinickendorfer Promenade - are emphasised and together create a lively and characteristic square.
